We believe the future of housing is not just about buildings — it's about creating places where people truly belong.

Colorado is facing a housing and loneliness crisis — seniors, workforce families, adults with disabilities and first-time home buyers are being pushed out of stable, connected communities.

Gratitude Village Colorado is taking action.

We are building a mixed-income, multi-generational, climate-conscious, collaborative neighborhood using the cohousing model with a goal of making our process replicable so other cities and regions can duplicate our efforts. Our community is designed for belonging, sustainability, 100% accessibility and long-term affordability, creating real, long-term opportunity for those too often left behind.

And we’re not starting from scratch.
32 future families — 65 individuals ages 10 months to 80 years — are already committed to building this community together.

Mission

Our Vision: To create a more connected, sustainable, equitable and healthy world through affordable, energy-efficient homes in a cohousing community.

Our Mission: Develop a flagship, affordable, Net Zero, cohousing community of up to 56 fully accessible homes in the Denver area.

Background Statement

Gratitude Village Colorado (GVCO) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in January 2025.

GVCO was formed in response to Colorado’s growing housing affordability crisis, increasing social isolation and the need for inclusive, climate-resilient housing options. Up to half of our homes will be permanently affordable, and all homes will be built to universal design and high-performance Passive House, NetZero and LEED sustainability standards.

We serve seniors, workforce families with young children, adults with disabilities, single adults, couples and first-time homebuyers seeking stable, community-centered housing.
