This is me with my friend Joan. A couple of years ago, Joan gifted me the beautiful Chanukah ornament you see here. She made it especially for me, and each year she makes sure to wish me a Happy Chanukah because she knows I'm Jewish. She is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know.
Differences are what make us interesting, beautiful and unique. Joan and I are friends, not despite our differences, but because those differences help make us who we are.
My career journey brought me to The Arc in 2010, and I always knew my purpose in being here: help create a world where everyone is valued and respected for who they are...and feels like they belong.
At The Arc, we believe that all people have inherent value. We believe that people with Autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are an important part of our community, and that we are all enriched by their presence, gifts and abilities.
I hope you’ll join me in supporting The Arc with a gift this year. You can help empower our family members, friends and neighbors of all abilities to live the lives they choose and feel that they belong. For more detailed information on what we do visit www.arcjc.org.
