In 1995, friends and family of Lois Webster honored her 75th birthday by creating a fund that would carry her love of Colorado’s wild creatures far into the future. The Lois Webster Fund (LWF) was born with a bold mission: to support research, education, and conservation for Colorado’s non-game species — the overlooked and often at-risk animals that make our ecosystems thrive.

Thirty years later, that vision has taken flight. Because of generous supporters, the LWF has:

• Awarded more than $167,000 to local research and education projects

• Supported 72 scientists, students, and conservationists across Colorado

• Advanced understanding and protection of species that often go unseen but are essential to healthy habitats

Lois would be so proud to know that her dream continues to make a difference. But today, the challenges facing Colorado’s songbirds, bats, and other wildlife are greater than ever — from shrinking habitats to a changing climate.
