Recognizing that we all start from different places, The Cycle Effect works to remove barriers to mountain biking. But they know it's not about the bike. It's about the transformational power of belonging and self-fulfillment that the bike provides.

For TCE participants, some of the barriers to access are obvious, like financial obstacles, language differences, and ever-present systemic hurdles. Other barriers are less visible, like mental health challenges and bullying at school.

The Cycle Effect breaks down barriers to access by providing bikes and gear; but more than that, they provide a safe, welcoming environment that lays the foundation for a culture of belonging. TCE provides mentors who guide participants through life's twists and turns, helping them explore their potential and their power to tackle the mountains they face, on and off the trail. Support through this fundraiser will go directly toward critical equipment purchases like bikes, helmets, uniforms, and other essential gear that make this work possible.

The results speak for themselves: 100% of girls who stay with us three or more years go on to college. 75% are first-generation college students.
