For Colorado Gives Day, I’m raising funds to support the Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center. SVK+ CC is a community-based nonprofit that supports, connects, and empowers the Sun Valley community – historically one of Denver’s most diverse and under-resourced neighborhoods. From no-cost groceries and free youth meals to job training, wellness workshops, and neighborhood events, SVK+CC makes sure every family has access to resources, opportunities, and community care.

This past year, SVK+CC has:

·      Served nearly 25,000 meals to community members.

·      Provided more than 120,000 pounds of food to more than 9,000 people and 4,700 families.

·      Paid more than $35,000 in wages to our youth employees

·      Hosted health and wellness classes attended by more than 620 people.

As a proud board member of Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center, I’ve seen firsthand the impact the organization has on our community. From weekly no-cost groceries and employment opportunities for youth, to kids’ cooking classes, wellness programs, neighborhood events, and more. SVK+CC is a vital community space where neighbors come together to thrive.
