The Road to Leadville 2027

Running has always been an integral part of my life since childhood, changing and adapting throughout the stages of life. Early on it was chasing PR's in high school track & cross country. College saw the transition to longer miles and eventually qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon. After a few years of scaling back on competitive running, I shifted to helping a close friend work his way up the distances until he was able to finish his 1st Marathon. It was also my first race that I ran for a charity, and an introduction to how tremendous of an impact running can have on others.

The Leadville Trail 100 has been a race I've always wanted to complete after learning about it many years ago. The distance, the altitude, the course: it seems nearly impossible. But it seems the stars are aligning and years of hard work are making crossing that finish line possible. My daughter has been an immense part of my drive to run Leadville. Showing her the work that goes into the training process, the highs & the lows, along with the power to do good by running for a charity like The Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation.

The Legacy Foundation helps support the Leadville and Lake County community through their core values of education, economic vitality, community and recreation. Being born in Colorado and able to participate in the Leadville 100 Trail Run in support of this foundation is a tremendous honor.
