Colorado Gives

This year has truly been a year of reflection as I look at my families strength and what we have over come! Yet I believe whatever you are going through, be it the beginning, middle or maybe you have it on lock that support is always a bonus! 

My son's Thomas and Timmy were diagnosed with ASD with a global delay at 3.5 years old we were living in rural Alaska at the time. I had no idea how this would impact our lives so much plus this is the first time I had heard the word Autism. I remember leaving the doctors appointment completely lost yet relieved I finally had a name for what we were facing. Since then it has been Mr. Toads wild ride as we have traveled through our path of IEP's ,  school and home based therapies, challenging behaviors, mountains of paperwork from applications, doctors, and tears on the really bad days. Yet through all of it we found hope, laughter in what we were given! This year we have taken yet one more turn into adulthood! We are truly blessed to have found our tribe and our support from organizations like Parent 2 Parent. It honestly takes a village to understand and guide children who learn and process information differently.
