July 2025 - A Fragile Road Ahead

Stanley arrived at Cat Care Society unable to move his back legs — just a tiny kitten, unaware that his future would look different from most.

Our veterinary team confirmed spinal trauma, permanent hind limb paralysis, and Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, meaning Stanley would require lifelong bladder expression, prescription food, and close monitoring.

Many shelters cannot take on a kitten like Stanley due to a lack of financial resources or expertise. At Cat Care Society, these cases define who we are.

August 2025 - Foster Care and A Medical Setback

A CCS foster, stepped forward to help with Stanley’s care. Despite his complications, he played, purred, and zoomed around Tiffany’s house without a care in the world.

Then, just days later, Stanley crashed.

He returned to Cat Care Society immediately for emergency care including fluids, antibiotics, and intensive monitoring. For several critical days, his future was uncertain, but with expert care Stanley’s fever finally broke and he was able to return to his foster home for recovery.

September 2025 - Turning the Corner

Less than a month later, Stanley was strong enough to be cleared for adoption with an ongoing care plan — physical therapy, daily bladder support, medication, prescription diet, and ongoing monitoring.

With specialized care for Stanley and education for his potential adopters, Stanley kept zooming ahead!

October 2025 - A New Name, A New Life.

Stanley has a new name now that fits him perfectly — Scooter.

“It was love at first sight,” his adopter Maddie said. “After recently becoming disabled myself, I felt that a cat with additional needs was a challenge I really wanted to take on.”

Scooter has not slowed down. He climbs cat trees, wrestles with his siblings, and even joins Maddie on trips to the coffee shop and Petsmart, where he enjoys watching the fish!

The Journey Continues

In just a few months, Scooter moved through emergency medicine, foster rehabilitation, and into a loving home prepared for his lifelong needs. On top of regular care and veterinary support, Scooter’s diagnostics, consults, and treatments added $1,400 to his total cost of care.

Your support keeps cats moving forward, even when the path is complicated.

Because of generous donors like you, Scooter received the support he needed to turn a fragile beginning into a future filled with hope, and an adopter found a cat who understands her in a deeply personal way.

Will you make a gift today to help another cat on his journey to a loving home?
