Celeste and Hal's Relay Run for Family Tree

I (Celeste) began volunteering for Family Tree in 2021 on the Homelessness Helpline and then transitioned to a housing case manager position in 2022.   For 4 years I have had the privilege to provide supportive services and advocacy for my clients to maintain stability in their life and in their housing.  Hal has always supported my work and mission, and this is our 3rd year running in the Colfax Marathon Relay to support and benefit Family Tree.

This is Family Tree's 50th year providing services to all people to prevent and overcome the interconnected issues of child abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness to promote safety, healing and stability across generations.  

When supporting my clients, I see firsthand how Family Tree's mission is achieved.  Several of my clients with a history of substance abuse, mental health instability, and homelessness have celebrated 7 years living in safe and stable housing and have achieved sobriety, built strong supportive connections in their family and community, and have become more financially independent.  The ability of Family Tree to provide financial assistance, housing opportunities, therapeutic support, among many other supportive services has contributed to my client's ability to make lasting positive change.
