As many families prepare to head back to school, we’re reminded of how critical structure, emotional support, and community are for children, especially those healing from trauma. While summer offers rest and recreation for many, it often brings instability for the kids we serve at Tennyson. With traditional schools closed, countless children lose access to consistent meals, mental health support, and a safe, stable routine.

At Tennyson, we never slow down. Our team provides year-round therapy, education, and 24/7 residential care, because healing doesn’t take a summer break. When school resumes in the fall, our kids return to classrooms where they feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow into the strongest version of themselves. It’s a powerful moment of reconnection and hope, and it’s only possible because of people like you.

Your Back-to-School Gift Makes an Impact

• $25 provides school supplies for a child starting their first successful classroom experience
• $50 supports materials and for experiential therapy and learning like animal/equine, art, and garden opportunities
• $100 provides new bedding, decorations, clothing, and hygiene materials for clients moving into our residential program to make the space their own
• $250 funds two hours of trauma-informed speech, occupational, and individualized therapy sessions that help children process their experiences
