We have come a long way since acquiring The Hearth building at 138 Grand Ave in December of 2021! With the support of our generous community members and grants, we have created an educational hub for classes, workshops, art, dance and movement, a commercial kitchen and a nourishing Ice Cream Corner Market as well! We are looking forward to continuing renovations of The Hearth including reconstruction of the entrance of the building to be ADA accessible, continuation of building our diversity library, improving our lighting and sound systems, as well as our green teaching space in the backyard.
We continue to adorn the external facade of The Hearth through public art crafted by The Build Guild's project: Rooted Memory Flowering Beauty, soon to be installed in the heart of Paonia, evoking the spirit of the Ute Council Tree and Chipeta’s Shawl — honoring resilience, and the beauty that flowers as memory takes root again.
We are looking to raise $60,000 before the end of 2025 in order to move forward with these essential renovations so that The Learning Council can continue meeting the mission of enriching community through education, art, advocacy, food, agriculture and wellness for all! Please consider donating to this cause today.
