Hi Friends!
I am a volunteer coach for the non-profit The Cycle Effect! We aim to remove barriers to mountain biking for girls and women around Breckenridge (and Summit County)! It’s about the transformational powers of belonging and self-fulfillment that the bike provides!
For the participants, some of the barriers to access are obvious, like financial obstacles, language differences, and ever-present systemic hurdles. Other barriers are less visible, like mental health challenges and bullying at school. The Cycle Effect breaks down barriers to access by providing bikes and gear. We also provide a safe and fun that lays the foundation for a culture of belonging.
