Before they grow into voters, leaders, or citizens of the world, they learn first to be heard. One clear, brave voice at a time.

I’m honored to support the Colorado Children’s Chorale this Colorado Gives Day—and I’m inviting you to join me.

My relationship with the Chorale began when I was in 2nd grade and continued all the way through 8th. What started as weekly rehearsals and performances eventually became life-shaping experiences. Today, after serving seven years on the Board, I’m the senior veteran of this remarkable organization—a place that shaped me as much as I hope it continues to shape future generations.

One of the most profound gifts the Chorale gives is access—not just to music, but to voice. I’ve seen it in myself, in today’s performers, and in the children of fellow board members, many now becoming alumni in their own right. The Chorale doesn’t just teach pitch and tone. It teaches young people to show up—to take their place in the world, to listen deeply, and to use their voices with courage and empathy.

And when these young singers travel—whether to New York, Europe, or rural communities across Colorado—it isn’t just about performance. It’s diplomacy. It’s cultural exchange. It’s quiet activism, carried through music by children who learn to see the world larger than themselves. These singers become early ambassadors of collaboration and peace.

In a moment when our world feels splintered, we need more of that. We need children who practice finding their voice—not just to sing, but to speak up, to lead, and to embody empathy in the spaces they one day inherit. Whether they become artists, teachers, medical professionals, or public servants, the Chorale helps prepare them for service—to themselves, to each other, and to a shared world.

Yes, the Chorale is about music. But more than that, it is about connection, belonging, education, and the belief that every child—regardless of background—has a voice worth hearing.

If you believe in a future led by thoughtful, confident, and compassionate young people, I invite you to support this work. Every gift helps a child find their voice—literally and symbolically.

Thank you so much for considering a donation to the Colorado Children’s Chorale through my page. I would be honored to talk with you more, introduce you to the program, or share just what this community has meant to my life.
