Hello everyone!

As you may know, I've always had a passion for biking and bicycle inspired pursuits (going so far to quit my job at one point to bike across Southeast Asia). Don't worry, this time I'm not leaving the US to ride a bike!

On August 15, 2026, I will be racing in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike race in Leadville, CO. This race annually draws over 2,000 cyclists and runners for the Race Across the Sky - 100 miles starting at 10,000 ft. Needless to say, in order to complete the Leadville 100, you need to DIG DEEP! But more importantly, I am teaming up with the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation in order to help support the youth of Lake County.

Leadville Colorado sits at 10,154' and was at one point at the center of silver mining industry in the United States and later became one of the largest molybdenum producers in the country until its collapse in the 1980s. Unlike the surrounding areas, Leadville is not a ski town. As the surrounding areas prospered, Leadville had one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. These days, the economy relies on events like the Leadville 100.

The Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation was created to give back to this community as a part of these incredible events since 1983. The Foundation supports students of Lake County High School by providing a $2,000 scholarship to every graduate who wants to go on to further their education.

They also support the local community with funding through their Legacy Grants program.  Recent recipients include St Vincent Health with a grant for their new ambulance, St George's Community Meals & Food Pantry, the Tabor Opera House Youth Theatre Collective and funding for 5 AED's for the local Search & Rescue team.

For me personally, this is an important opportunity to give back - I've spent many hours in the region (photo is me and Cosette on top of Mt. Massive which is the backdrop to Leadville).

This giving season, I would be honored if you would consider a gift to the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation. Your support will help me reach my goal, which will provide one scholarship for a graduate of the class of 2026!  Let's DIG DEEP together (you in your pockets, me on the bike).

Thank you and God bless.

Patrick
