Stand with Jeanette: Her Fight Continues
"I've been in detention four times. Every time, I'm still facing obstacles: paying for food, for my life, for my kids. I need support. My fight continues." – Jeanette Vizguerra
For years, Denver Justice Project has stood with Jeanette. When she was detained in March 2025, community came together to fight for her release. Jeanette is no longer in a cage, but her fight is far from over.
A person's case doesn't end when they walk out of a courtroom, a prison, or an immigration detention center. Jeanette still faces deportation proceedings and required court appearances. The Department of Homeland Security has not given her permission to work, so she is still being criminalized and controlled by the immigration enforcement system.
Unlike the criminal legal system, immigration court doesn't provide an attorney. People have to find and pay for their own legal representation. Imagine being released from detention, unable to legally work, while your attorney fees pile up, your case moves through court, and your bills keep mounting.
That's where you come in. Every dollar given to Jeanette's Legal Fund goes toward her legal defense and helps her stay with her family and her community.
Give to her Legal Fund and help her keep fighting.
