With both acute and long-term cuts to federal food assistance programs like SNAP, UpRoot's work to get fresh fruits and vegetables into the hands of our neighbors in need across Colorado is more important than ever. So far this year UpRoot has harvested and redistributed over 180,000 pounds of fresh, local food - more than 2.2 million servings! - in partnership with 66 farms, 37 fruit tree stewards, and 100 hunger-relief organizations. 439 volunteers contributed more than 1,640 hours of their time to get this food from farms to those who need it.

We are a small but mighty team at UpRoot, and none of this would be possible without the dedicated community of volunteers, partners, and donors that bring this work to life. We can only do this work in partnership, and we wouldn't want it any other way.

This year, we are trying to raise $5,500 from supporters of our efforts in Garfield County and the Roaring Fork Valley. If you appreciate the work that UpRoot is doing to promote food security and to connect more people to local farmers in our region, please consider making a donation this Colorado Gives Day. Plan to make a contribution on December 8th, Colorado Gives Day, or help us build momentum by giving right now as part of early giving! Any amount, no matter how small, contributes to more families having access to fresh, local food, food that otherwise would not have left the farm.
