2026 Update
Although the fundraising ticker currently shows $0, please know that your gift is part of a much larger community effort! In 2025, we raised $870 through online donations and more than $15,000 in total contributions. Every gift—online or offline—helps make this work possible. Thank you for being part of it!
Our Guardians of History Annual Fund provides flexible, year-round support for the Montezuma Heritage Museum's mission. Whether you give during our year-end campaign or at any time throughout the year, your contribution helps care for our collections, develop engaging exhibits, and sustain programs that connect students, residents, and visitors with our region's history.
In 2026, thanks to the generosity of our members and donors, we:
Preserved and cared for new collection donations that illuminate and enrich our understanding of local history.
Engaged hundreds of students through school visits, field trips, and our Teen Team program, providing meaningful, hands-on museum experiences.
Brought history to life and celebrated America 250 and Colorado 150 through programs like Yesterday's Stories and exhibits such as Moments That Made Us.
Partnered with the Cortez Historic Preservation Board to lead historic walking tours of downtown Cortez and Montezuma Avenue, welcoming more than 100 participants.
And so much more!
Your support makes this work possible. Become a Guardian of History and help ensure that Montezuma County's stories are preserved, shared, and celebrated for generations to come.
