About CABPES & Fuel The Future Fund
About CABPES
Since 1980, CABPES has prepared African American and other underrepresented minority students for futures in science, technology, engineering and math. More than 17,500 students have come through its programs. Today CABPES serves more than 300 students a year in grades 5–12, through Math Enrichment, JETS (Junior Engineers, Tomorrow's Scientists), Summer Math Boot Camp and SAT/ACT preparation. Students build strong math skills, take on hands-on engineering challenges and learn from practicing and retired engineers and scientists. Each student receives an average of 65 hours of sustained instruction and mentorship. CABPES students earned back-to-back Future City regional wins in 2025 and 2026. The organization is led by Dr. Dewey Brigham, President and Executive Director, who has spent more than 30 years in this work.
Give Five. Ask Five. Fuel the Future.
Give Five. Ask Five. Fuel the Future. is CABPES's 2026 Colorado Gives Day campaign, running from November 1 through Colorado Gives Day on December 8, with a push on Giving Tuesday, December 1. The idea is simple: give $5, then ask five people to do the same. Each small gift adds momentum and spreads awareness, and every dollar goes to the Fuel the Future Fund, CABPES's effort to buy a permanent home.
The Fuel the Future Fund
The Fuel the Future Fund is CABPES's capital campaign to buy a permanent home. The new building will give students a place to attend programs and classes, give staff a place to work and give the community a place to gather. When CABPES has a place to call home, so do our students.
