The Five Star Education Foundation for Adams 12 Schools is a non-profit focused on providing resources for students across the district from Kindergarten through High School.
At the elementary level, we focus on learning readiness. This means stocking and staffing Resource Closets in the schools, which provide food, hygiene, and clothing to ensure that students are learning ready when they come to school and don't have to worry where their next meal is coming from. It also means funding YES Fund grants to classroom teachers for projects and initiatives that aren't supported by school budgets but directly grow their students academically and culturally.
These learning readiness initiatives continue through all grade levels.
At the High School level, we expand upon learning readiness and focus on college and career readiness. This means providing direct support for Career and Technical Education by providing real-life industry tools, such as props for first responder and nursing classes, and integrating with employers to provide counsel with current industry professionals. In addition, the I See Me program seeks to increase long-term engagement, representation, and success of underrepresented students in STEM and career pathways through hands-on learning and consistent career exposure, helping them facilitate finishing high school and exploring College and Career pathways.
K-12 students in all school districts have increasing barriers to success throughout and beyond their academic lives, and the Foundation's mission is to remove these barriers and help these kids thrive. Your support goes a long way toward making that mission possible, so thank you in advance for your support!!
