I started running last year in honor of my dad after he passed in August. Unfortunately, August 2026, we lost my grandpa, Poppy as well. They taught me everything in life. How to fix any and everything, how to play baseball and basketball, how to be a man and just gave me great examples to strive to be like. They were my heroes.

I had the plan to run the Leadville 100 last year in honor of my dad, because we climbed two sections of the mountains on the course for the race together while I was in high school. We climbed Mt Elbert and the lower sections of Hope Pass on our way to Rinker Peak.

When I thought about doing this race after Poppy passed, this goal had a new dimension. They were both teachers to youth. Educating and loving on the next generations of kids in many various ways. If I’m going to gain my entry into Leadville, this would absolutely be a way that would honor them both.

Not only does this fundraiser secure my spot in the Leadville 100 Run.   But as a charity athlete with the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation, my fundraising goal will help a graduate from Lake County High School.  You see the Legacy Foundation awards a $3,000 scholarship every graduate of the local school school to further their path of education.

If you like to help me reach my goal and secure my spot in the 2027 Leadville 100 Trail Run, please donate and help build this scholarship fund for the students of Leadville.
