Bluff Lake's 2025 Colorado Gives Day Campaign!

2025 has been a monumental year for Bluff Lake Nature Center! In March, we broke ground on our Campus Improvements Project, and now we're making preparations to be ready for the activation of the space once it's complete in January 2026!

This will mean ensuring we have the budget, staff, and capacity to take care of the building and other improvements, as well as expanding programs and engaging more community. 

You, our Bluff Lake supporters have built this project, with your thoughtful input, dedicated advocacy, and immense collective financial support, with well over 1,000 donors contributing to our campaign. 

Now we are asking you to join us and make an operating contribution that will support our expanded programming, community outreach, and site caretaking. Our fall giving goal this year is $50,000, which will help us hit the ground running in 2026 with our new building, ramp, parking lot, and more! 

New considerations for our 2026 operating budget will include:

• Expanding capacity for Summer Camp, Field Trips, Forest School, and Outdoor Homeschool Enrichment;
• Adding a Building and Site Technician, allowing our Natural Resources Director to focus on the science of Bluff Lake;
• And of course the new costs of the building itself, such as utilities, janitorial, and more.

Did you know that Bluff Lake donors in Colorado can take advantage of the 50% Childcare Tax Credit of up to $100,000 per year, in addition to other state and federal charitable contribution credits? 

Federal tax laws are changing on January 1, 2026. For instance, all taxpayers - whether they itemize or not - can deduct up to $1,000 (individual) or $2,000 (joint) for cash charitable gifts.
