Underground Music Showcase, a three day music festival on South Broadway that features 200+ artists and 30,000+ attendees. In 2022, Youth on Record became a co-owner of the festival, bringing more diverse music to attendees and enlightening attendees and the general public about opportunities to strengthen the music sector through thriving wages, artist care, accessibility, and harm reduction at music festivals.

Year over year, Youth on Record has worked hard to:

  1. Shift festival culture through the introduction of harm reduction and sober bars throughout the UMS footprint, all while improving accessibility and commitment to accessibility at festivals to come.
  2. Support mental wellness and prevention of substance misuse with the introduction of the UMS Impact Show.
  3. Create and evolve Impact Days at UMS, a two-day series of workshops serving UMS performing artists, local musicians, and industry professionals with professional development resources, creative opportunities, and networking.
  4. Continue the vision to utilize the festival as an opportunity for talented young creatives to gain meaningful, paid experience throughout the festival footprint.
  5. Design an Artist Care Lounge for UMS artists – a substance-free, calming space that offers healthy snacks, health and wellness workshops, a nap area, access to mental health providers, art-making stations, and more.
  6. Ensure UMS tickets include a $5 service fee that supports payment of thriving-artist wages.
