Coming out of the pandemic and difficult economic times, ScSEED is being asked to help get Saguache County back on it's feet. More groups and entities are needing help with grants, planning, community consensus, partnership building and organizational expertise.
To meet this growing need, ScSEED must grow. More and more life is conducted in the virtual world. This requires special equipment and technology as well as trained personnel. The coordination of projects, oversight of volunteers and accurate reporting are complicated tasks and can no longer be done by one person. The structure of non-profits are changing - no longer can you just dump everything to a 'jack-of-all-trades' Director. The burn-out factor is real and the labor market will take away the best people. Time adjust to the times and compartmentalize the jobs so to hire the correct skill set. Team management will increase efficiency and production.
There is so much money right now to help communities and businesses, but it take a concentrated effort to find, apply and manage grant and loan programs. ScSEED needs to build it's operating funds so we don't have to turn down communities that are ready to start projects.
