Tom Clark, Colorado’s ‘godfather of regionalism,’ believed economic development was not just about buildings or business deals—but about people. He was a champion of collaboration, a mentor to emerging leaders, and the architect behind many of Colorado’s most iconic projects—from Denver International Airport to Coors Field to our region’s expansive transit system. But above all, Tom was a bridge-builder. His legacy lives on in every community he helped connect and every leader he inspired.

The Tom Clark Legacy Fund is carrying that vision forward by investing in the next generation—through the Civic Influencer Fellowship, a 9-month journey for young Coloradans (ages 16–24) who are ready to lead, connect, and create real change in their communities.

Rooted in Tom’s Vision, Rising with the Next Generation

The Civic Influencers don’t just learn about leadership—they live it. They participate in real-world policy change and are part of regional projects, helping elevate their communities' voices. Along the way, they’re mentored by seasoned leaders, supported with stipends that remove barriers, and begin their launch into public life with confidence and purpose.

Just as Tom brought together leaders across sectors and ideologies to solve significant challenges, the Civic Influencer Fellowship empowers young people to do the same—developing their skills as civic leaders while advancing cross-sector solutions that contribute to RMP's commitment to helping 71,000 young people achieve upward mobility by 2030.  

Carrying Tom’s Legacy Forward

Established in partnership with his wife, Donna Alengi, the Tom Clark Legacy Fund ensures that Tom’s core values—collaboration, mentorship, and public service—live on through each fellow’s journey.

The fund directly supports the Civic Influencer Fellowship, which equips young wayfinders with the skills, experience, and networks to lead, advocate for, and drive meaningful change—ensuring Tom’s values continue to shape the future.

Fellows gain the skills, mentorship, and experience they need to lead across sectors and drive meaningful impact in their communities.
