Vail Mountain Club: Feeding Local Families

This season, Vail Mountain Club is proud to partner with The Community Market, a program of the Eagle Valley Community Foundation, to ensure every person in our valley — local families, seasonal workers, and seniors alike — has access to healthy, nourishing food.

Each week, The Community Market serves more than 4,000 residents across Eagle County, providing free groceries in a welcoming, dignified environment. Families can choose from fresh produce, meat, dairy, and pantry staples, helping them stretch their budgets and nourish their loved ones.

Just $50 feeds a family of four for an entire week. Your generosity helps stock The Community Market’s shelves with essentials — the items our neighbors rely on most.

The Community Market operates two customer-choice food pantries and a network of Mobile Markets to reach neighbors wherever they live or work — ensuring healthy food is always within reach:

• Edwards Pantry: Our central hub, open five days a week, serving hundreds of households each day with fresh produce, meat, dairy, and pantry staples, all in a warm, welcoming space.

• Gypsum Pantry: Located near the airport and local schools, this site expands access for families and seasonal workers living and working further west in the valley.

• Mobile Markets: Bringing food directly into neighborhoods, schools, and community gathering places throughout Eagle County, breaking down transportation barriers and meeting people where they are.

Together, these efforts make sure nutritious food is never out of reach — for anyone in our valley! But the impact doesn’t stop there. Thanks to strong partnerships across the valley, The Community Market’s reach extends even further:

• Sharing with Local Pantries: The Community Market provides food to partner organizations like The Salvation Army, ensuring families throughout Eagle County have access to nutritious meals, no matter where they live.

• Totes for Hope (Video Above): Every week, the team delivers bags of food to local schools, giving students meals and snacks to take home for the weekend so no child goes hungry outside of school hours.

• Senior Meal Delivery: Through a partnership with 4 Eagle Senior Care, The Community Market helps provide groceries for a senior meal program, ensuring older adults receive nourishing, home-cooked meals delivered with care and compassion.

Together, these efforts weave a stronger, more connected safety net, one that supports families working hard to make ends meet, seasonal employees keeping our resorts vibrant, and seniors aging with dignity.
