I’m so proud to be work for an organization that allows me to provide a wide variety of high-quality music education opportunities to all kinds of students. In the past two weeks alone, I’ve seen:

  • Hundreds of preschoolers singing and dancing along to our bilingual Petite Musique: The Story of Peter Rabbit concert in Northglenn;
  • Over 1,000 elementary students enter Boettcher Concert Hall for the first time with wonder and awe and then tell me afterwards how cool it was to see dancers, a spoken-word poet, and the orchestra all together in our Lift Every Voice Youth Concert;
  • Hundreds of kids and parents excitedly coloring spooky witches as they wait in costume for our Halloween concerts to start;
  • Band and orchestra students from middle and high school observe a professional orchestra rehearsal and then engage in thoughtful Q&As with our guest artists about what it’s like being a professional musician; and,
  • More buses than I care to count (over 100, with more to come!)

And that’s only in this month! Year round, the Colorado Symphony is doing the important work of making symphonic music accessible to audiences all across Colorado. I love being able to come to work and create opportunities for students to express themselves through the arts, learn language through music and movement, improve their literacy through a story time concert, or so many other things. Donating to the education department of the Colorado Symphony means that you’re directly supporting the future of live, symphonic music.
