How Your Gift Grows

The Farm: We're transforming 35 acres in Bennett, CO, into an incubator space where farmers and land stewards like Alamean (pictured) can grow food for their communities.

The Hub: We're facilitating collaboration between folks in the middle of the supply chain: connecting farmers, food businesses, and markets to create efficiencies of scale.

The Market: We aim to make local food more accessible and affordable to more people through popup markets and no-cost grocery programs (like our partners at Kaizen Food Rescue).

Your Gift in Action 💚

• $10 will build our seed fund—for literal seeds!
• $100 will pack four food boxes with local produce and dry goods for families in need of groceries.
• $1,000 will reorganize and restock our on-farm tool library so that our land stewards have everything they need for next season.
• $10,000+ will build a retention pond and a new well on The Farm, expanding our incubator space by leaps and bounds.

Our Fundraising Goal 💪

Over the next three years, The Ag & Food Lab has set an ambitious goal to raise $1.2 million to advance our mission of building equitable, resilient local food systems across Colorado.

This investment will expand our capacity and scale community-based infrastructure that connects farmers, food businesses, and families—creating a food economy rooted in justice, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

The Lab's goals are to:

• 🌾 Support at least 25 small and immigrant-owned farm and food businesses with access to land, training, and infrastructure.
• 🏡 Develop a vibrant incubator space on The Farm with on-site housing, a tool library, and community for small farmers.
• 🏭 Create a shared processing space at The Hub with light processing, cold storage, and distribution support.
• ♻️ Operate The Hub as a zero-waste facility, turning potential food waste into snacks and packaged goods.
• 🚚 Strengthen regional food value chains through shared storage and distribution systems.
• 🛒 Build an independent hub-and-spoke transportation model connecting Colorado-grown food directly to local retailers.
• 🤝 Facilitate networks that put Colorado-grown food directly in neighborhood stores and institutions.
• 🥕 Expand access to fresh, affordable food for underserved communities through partners like Kaizen Food Rescue.
• 🏫 Ensure schools and hospitals in underserved areas purchase 80% of their food from Colorado farmers.
• 💚 Create and sustain quality jobs that build community wealth through small farm and food businesses.
