Make a foundational and historic impact on the health of our community and environment.
This Fund, managed by Jefferson County and volunteers who form the Jefferson County Sustainability Commission, seeks to collect financial contributions from committed community members, organizations and businesses wanting to take immediate action against climate change.
In 2021, we successfully raised almost $50,000 to help fund the development of Jefferson County's first Climate Action Plan (CAP).
In 2022, the CAP was developed throughout an intensive 12-month process and will be finalized by the end of the year, featuring goals and strategies to reduce GHG emissions and bolster our community's resilience to climate change impacts, all while centering equity along the way. Implementation of the CAP's robust suite of solutions will begin in 2023.
Your financial contribution at this time supports implementation of a variety of climate solutions that benefit all community members in Jefferson County. This includes actions in the areas of energy use and efficiency, water conservation, public health, waste diversion, forest health and transportation -- all within the lens of equity.
