**UPDATE** Out of an abundance of caution for the health of our community, we are postponing the Sing Out for SafeHouse Denver event scheduled for this coming Sunday. Please keep an eye on our social media for an announcement of the new date.

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, in commemoration of International Women's Month, six community women's choirs will join together to present a benefit concert on behalf of SafeHouse Denver. The concert starts at 5:30 pm at Temple Emanuel, 51 Grape Street, Denver, CO 80220

Kol Nashim, the women's choir of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale, has a dual mission of preserving, promoting and celebrating Jewish music, while also concertizing on behalf of the Jerusalem Shelter for Battered Women, and other women's charities.

The Denver Children's Choir (DCC) actively seeks children from diverse backgrounds and offers the opportunity to experience musical excellence in a multicultural environment. Fourteeners is the DCC's select women's choir, made up of advanced singers grades 5-12.

In 2017 when Leah Peer, Kol Nashim Founder and Music Director, conceived of the idea of a collaborative benefit concert on behalf of SafeHouse, she reached out to Fourteeners Director, Leslie Britton. Britton shared that, in addition to her DCC choirs, she conducts a community women's choir, Impromptu. The two women quickly agreed to bring all three groups together in this joint venture.

Now a biennial event, the 2018 event featured five women's choirs, and the upcoming 2020 event features SIX: Kol Nashim, DCC's Fourteeners, East High School's Seraphim, Metro State University Woman's Choir, and Denver Women's Chorus.

When the singers take the stage in March, over 230 women, ages 10 to 80, will raise their voices on behalf of survivors of domestic violence in Colorado. The theme for the concert is empowerment of women, and all the musical selections will reflect that theme.

100% of the box office will be given to SafeHouse, Denver, and is matched by an anonymous donor.

Your minimum donation of $18 will serve as your concert ticket.
