Sam joined the Hope House Northern Colorado board in February 2023 and is thrilled to continue her connections with Hope House. She currently serves as secretary on the board of directors. Serving teen moms has always held a place near and dear to Sam’s heart, as her grandparents instilled the importance of giving back to the community and were supporters of Hope House Colorado for many, many years. As a Greeley/Evans resident since 2014, Sam could not be more thrilled that Hope House Northern Colorado is here to serve the teen moms in her own community. Since opening its doors in Greeley, Sam has supported teen moms in their quest to obtain their GED through tutoring in math and establishing a pool of tutors for all other subject areas. After teaching middle school math for 10.5 years, Sam started nursing school at University of Northern Colorado in May 2022 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, in December 2023.
Hear From Samantha
"Hope House has been a part of my life for as long as I remember, as my grandparents were big supporters of Hope House Colorado. When I learned Hope House was expanding to Northern Colorado, I was called to carry on my grandparent's work through volunteering with the new organization. In time, I joined the board, and could not be happier in supporting the work that Hope House Northern Colorado does to help one of the most vulnerable populations in our area-teen moms and their kiddos. Being able to connect with teen moms and help them to reach their self sufficiency goals is amazing; even more amazing is the moment in which our teen moms realize they matter and they CAN do it. For these reasons, my heart continues to be filled with passion for Hope House Northern Colorado and all of the work the organization is doing!"
