"The value of Hope House Northern Colorado is truly something amazing! They helped me with anything and everything I needed from financial support to taking parenting classes to help me improve my skills for my future and the future of my child as well. Hope House Northern Colorado is a great foundation to teen moms and helping them in their need and showing them they are never alone."- Ashantee

"I have really enjoyed the classes that Hope House provides and I'm excited for the future classes. I've learned more than expected and had a blast while doing it. They also have a great group of people that provides lots of support for us young moms and very loving and caring." - Hannah

“Hope House has been helpful to me in many ways, including financial support when needed, and stepping in and filling a gap with providing food. Hope House provides funding for me to go to therapy with a licensed therapist who is seriously the best! They helped me receive my GED by not only giving me a study space, but they also gave me a tutor and other resources to be successful. This has helped me go on to start community college at Aims. Another thing I find helpful is how much Colleen has taught me about gratitude.” - Laura

“They have cared for me in ways I have never been. In addition, they have helped build a community I can trust and can go to for anything.”  - Delilah

                     “I would not have gotten my GED if it wasn’t for Hope House. Hope House has motivated me to go further in my education.” - Ro Ha

Mission

Hope House Northern Colorado empowers parenting teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God's sight, resulting in a healthy future for them, and for their children.

Background Statement

Colleen Emery, Executive Director, was involved with a teen mom mentoring program for a number of years and identified the need for continuing support once moms in that program left high school. Through a series of serendipitous encounters, she connected with Hope House Colorado who have been serving teen moms for 21 years, discussed potential collaboration structures with the organization in 2018-2019, and launched the first Hope House affiliate, Hope House Northern Colorado, in 2020.

* Less than 50% of teen moms will graduate from high school;

* Fewer than 2% will ever earn a college degree;

* In Colorado, a teen mom must work 101 hours per week at minimum wage to earn enough annual income to meet basic needs without public assistance

In 2021, Hope House Northern Colorado opened its community resource center creating a space for programming and a place to belong. Since its inception services have expanded to include but not limited to the following:

* Licensed counseling

* Direct Assistance

* GED Program

* College & Career Partnerships

* Parenting Classes

* Healthy Relationships Classes

* Financial Literacy Classes

* Assistance with Human Services

* Legal Assistance

* Ages & Stages Questionnaire (childhood developmental assessments for children of teen moms)

Hope House is a place where teen moms in our community can strive for self-sufficiency and break the cycle of generational poverty. It is a place where the impact of community support can change the lives of two generations!
