Run for Respite 2026

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We’re running for a cause and we need your support.

This year, our team is lacing up for the Colfax Marathon to raise critical funds for PaRC Place a first-of-its-kind pediatric respite and palliative care home designed to support children and young adults with complex medical needs and the families who care for them.

Why This Matters

Across the United States, more than 1 million children live with complex medical conditions that require ongoing, specialized care. Many rely on technology such as ventilators, feeding tubes, or mobility supports.

For their families, caregiving is often a 24-hour responsibility.

Studies show that over 70% of caregivers for medically complex children experience severe sleep deprivation, financial strain, and burnout, yet respite services remain extremely limited.

In Colorado, there are currently no residential pediatric respite homes like PaRC Place, leaving families with few options for safe, short-term care when they need rest, recovery, or support.

What PaRC Place Will Do

PaRC Place is being created to fill this critical gap in care.

When complete, PaRC Place will:

❤️ Provide overnight pediatric respite care so families can rest, travel, or care for other children while knowing their child is safe.

❤️ Support children and young adults with complex medical needs, including those requiring skilled nursing and specialized equipment.

❤️ Offer pediatric palliative and end-of-life care in a peaceful, home-like environment.

❤️ Serve hundreds of families each year across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.

❤️ Create a community of support for families navigating some of life’s most challenging journeys.
