Early childhood literacy is a personal passion because I believe that, while talent is evenly distributed across populations, opportunity isn't. Encouraging reading with kids at a young age is one way we can close that opportunity gap.  Simply reading with children and making reading part of their regular routine has an outsized impact on life outcomes, like self-esteem, resiliency, education attainment, future earning capacity, and job stability. 

Everyone remembers the magic of their first favorite book — the story that made them fall in love with reading, or the moment someone special read aloud to them.  Your first book helped shape who you are. Now, you can give that gift to a new generation.

Help Colorado kids fall in love with reading and join Reach Out and Read Colorado this Colorado Gives Day to promote early literacy, family connectivity, and a joy of reading for the kids in your community.
