Suddenly, you’re without the people who share your past and understand your world. Now, picture this at eight, or ten, or fifteen. Alone, confused, and longing for family.

For children separated from siblings, feelings of fear, loneliness, and confusion are all too common. These are emotions no child should face. Studies show that when siblings are separated, they are more likely to struggle in school, face juvenile justice involvement, and experience long-term mental health issues.

Why the sibling bond matters...

The sibling bond is often the longest, most enduring connection in our lives. Through it, we learn to communicate, to set boundaries, and to find support. For children in foster care, a sibling is often their only constant, someone who reminds them of who they are and where they come from.

We believe in the healing power of family, especially for siblings separated by foster care. Through Sibling Connecting Events and Camp Connect, our annual summer camp, we provide a safe, joyful space for siblings to reconnect, laugh, and just be kids together.
