The Cimarron Athletic Field campaign will turn an empty field behind the Ridgway Secondary School into a vibrant recreational hub, with a synthetic turf soccer field, all-weather eight-lane track, and dedicated areas for high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus, shot put, and pole vault. The facility will be free and open to the public when not in use by students.

Construction of the Cimarron Athletic Field will expand youth access and lower barriers to sports in multiple communities around the San Juan region, including Ridgway, Ouray, Silverton, Telluride, Norwood, and the West End of Montrose County, which have a total population of more than 13,000 people.  There is currently no publicly available track in five counties, an area larger than Connecticut.

We have raised $3.7M, 93% of our project's total $4M cost, and construction on the facility is proceeding. We hope to fill a $300k funding gap that will allow us to complete the entire athletic field.

Please consider donating to our project between September 3-17, 2025. The Daniels Fund, the Aspen Institute's Project Play, and hundreds of nonprofits supporting youth sports will match all donations made during this period. Every child deserves to experience the joy of playing sports. Double your donations through this program, and help us make the Cimarron Athletic Field a reality sooner!
