Telluride Foundation Food Security Initiative:
Supporting Local Farmers & Local Food Pantries
Our regional food pantries in Norwood, Nucla, Ridgway & Telluride are more essential than ever. With cuts to SNAP benefits, school meal programs, and other federal assistance, more families in our region are struggling to put healthy food on the table. At the same time, the rising cost of groceries makes it increasingly difficult to purchase nutritious food.
Through our partnership with The FRESH Foundation (Fresh Food Hub of Norwood), we ensure that regional food pantries can purchase fresh, locally grown food from regional farmers and ranchers.
Your donation creates a full circle of impact - supporting local farmers while helping local families access fresh, healthy produce they might not otherwise afford. By giving to our Food Security Initiative, you can help provide locally grown fruits and vegetables to those who need them most, while also strengthening our community and our local food system.
"As a senior living on a fixed budget it is hard to purchase healthy food. As a user of SNAP, I appreciate that I can purchase food from the Fresh Foundation programs, and at the end of the month when my budget is stretched thin, I visit the food pantry to supplement my meals with healthy food."
The Telluride Foundation is committed to enriching the quality of life of the residents, workforce, and visitors of the Telluride region. It is a nonprofit, apolitical community foundation that makes grants and runs programs in arts, education, health and human services, community development, and social enterprises. The Foundation strives to achieve excellence for the community through its mission and core values of inclusion, self-reliance, and innovation. Our work is funded through the generous support of our donors as well as grants from state and national foundations. Please visit www.telluridefoundation.org.
Since 2000, the Foundation has been working hard to ensure our entire region has access to the resources it needs to improve the quality of life of all residents. We strive to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow with a focus on strengthening our robust community of nonprofits, serving our citizens, and bolstering our region's economic ecosystem -- all to Make More Possible for everyone living and working in the Telluride region.
Our Food Security Initiative is a 7-year program of the Telluride Foundation supporting the core of our regional community – those who live and work here - keeping this amazing, vibrant place thriving!
