Hope Communities is a 43-year-old Colorado nonprofit which provides affordable housing and support services to vulnerable individuals and families in east Denver and Five Points. I am privileged to serve on their Board of Directors.
Hope's work has been recognized recently by the Denver Business Journal, which awarded them the Partners in Philanthropy Award and named our Executive Director, Sharon Knight, a Most Admired CEO. Colorado Biz Magazine named them a Top Company in the Nonprofit category. The Spring Institute awarded Hope the Intercultural Champion Award for their work supporting refugees and immigrants recently as well.
Critical to Hope's mission is their team of navigators, who come from all over the world. Their goal is connecting clients to services and resources and ensuring that they understand systems, whether it's how to get and keep a job or how to advocate for their children in school. The navigators' approach is simple yet profound: they meet people where they are and ask what they need. It's a philosophy that truly emphasizes the importance of considering each individual’s needs, hopes, and background.
As the daughter of immigrants, my volunteer work supporting Hope Communities and their team is personally important to me; I hope their mission speaks to you too. Please join me in supporting Hope's capacity to assist the most vulnerable families in our community - in becoming thriving citizens of Denver and contributing to the growth and well-being of our city.
