Welcome to the season of Giving! Our children are our future, and I believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. Today, roughly 1 in 7 children in this country experience child abuse or neglect, at a cost of ~$600B. These children need our support.
2025 is a challenging year for non-profits and the vital programs they support, many of which are facing significant decreases in state and federal funding. It is up to those of us who believe every child deserves to feel safe, healthy and nurtured to bridge the gap.
The Kempe Foundation is a world leading non-profit focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Our focus is on:
1. Programs. By supporting experts in the field, Kempe runs evidence-based programs that help the most vulnerable, such as training for care providers, mental health in public schools, healthcare for foster children, and mentorships for foster children.
2. Advocacy. Kempe’s policy team works to pass child-focused policies to improve the lives of children, including mental health of students, maintaining families during child welfare involvement, and supporting foster youth as they age out of the welfare system.
3. Community building. Kempe strives to work alongside other organizations who share missions to end child abuse and protect families.
This Gives Day my personal goal is to raise $7,500 for the Kempe Foundation, and I will match your gift, no matter the amount. Gives Day is one of our biggest annual fundraising efforts, so I hope you will consider being a part of that!
Please join me in supporting the Kempe Foundation’s life-changing work to keep children safe and allow families thrive.
The Kempe Foundation is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse, neglect and trauma.
