Wound Care is a significant and growing need in our region. HRRMC's general surgeon currently sees 5-10 wound care patients per week, with over 30 other local primary care and specialized physicians that also see wound care patients who would benefit from these additional services. Creating a wound care center in Salida, would relieve patients from driving up to six hours round trip for care, plus extensive housing costs while receiving multiple daily treatments. Many non-healing wound care patients require 2-hour treatments each day for 4-6 weeks. It is an intensive healing process that will be available here in 2024.

Individuals with wounds from injuries, surgeries, or illness such as diabetes, require special care to help wounds heal. Treatments include dressing changes, debridement, surgical procedures and skin-grafting, as well as pressurized oxygen/hyperbaric treatments for non-healing or ulcerative wounds. Your contribution will support the remodel of our current HRRMC Surgical Suites to include a specified treatment area and the purchase and installation of a hyperbaric chamber and new oxygen system.

HRRMC Foundation provides fundraising support for Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) to build and expand facilities, secure equipment, and enhance patient services throughout the 8,000 square mile region we serve. This includes support of five HRRMC rural health clinics in Buena Vista (BVHC), Custer County/Westcliffe (CCHC), Saguache, Salida (SHC), and South Park/Fairplay (SPHC).

HRRMC Foundation’s mission is aligned with HRRMC: to provide funding support for HRRMC to enhance the health of our community through the delivery of personalized and exceptional care.
