About the Andrew D. Holleman Scholarship at Denver Scholarship Foundation
The Holleman family established the Andrew D. Holleman Scholarship in September 2019 with the Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF). The Scholarship, endowed in memory of Mary Holleman’s son, Andy, provides need and promise-based scholarships for Denver Public Schools students who graduated from Manual High School, where Andy Holleman served as Head Boy. Since 2020, the Andrew D. Holleman Scholarship has been awarded to 11 graduates of Manual High School, all of whom are first-generation college students pursuing their college degree in Colorado.
Andy's mother, Mary D. Holleman, passed away on February 9, 2026. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Andrew D. Holleman Scholarship through the Denver Scholarship Foundation.
Denver Scholarship Foundation
Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) is a nonprofit helping to make college possible for Denver Public Schools (DPS) students and graduates. With support from community members like you, DSF builds the educational and economic future of Denver by collaborating with DPS high school students, families, and partners statewide to increase access and completion of post-high school learning. This work also expands generational exposure to career and entrepreneurial opportunities. Many DPS students begin their journey to and through college graduation by visiting a DSF Future Center.
At 15 DSF Future Centers, DSF College Advisors guide students through building and pursuing their plans after high school, with a primary focus on postsecondary planning for higher education, including each step of the college application and financial aid process. Whether they choose a pathway to pursue a certificate, associate, and/or bachelor’s degree, DSF provides support in navigation and thought partnership every step of the way.
What are the results?
DSF College Advisors help DPS students apply for college, financial aid, and scholarships. DSF's Future Centers served over 16,700 DPS students in 2024-25. In addition, DSF provides scholarships to qualifying DPS graduates who enroll in one of 30 College Partner schools, which include technical, community college, and universities across Colorado. In the 2024-2025 academic year, DSF awarded more than $8.9M to 2,500+ DSF Scholars. Additionally, every scholarship includes support services that aid Scholars on their journey to and through college graduation.
"DSF Scholars receive $3 in additional financial aid from our College Partners for every $1 they receive from DSF."
On average, each year our DSF Scholars receive $3 in additional financial aid from our College Partners for every $1 they receive from DSF Scholarships. Because it takes more than just financial aid, DSF College Partners guarantee DSF Scholars additional academic and financial support on campus by providing additional grants and scholarships. Our College Partners also connect DSF Scholars with special programs and services such as mentoring, tutoring, workshops, and other programs and resources to help them succeed and ultimately graduate joining our broad DSF Alumni network.
How can you make a difference?
