Grow Club And Greenhouse Restoration

The GW Grow Club is a student organization that focuses on growing plants. Our current fund-raising campaign is to raise funds to restore the GW greenhouse.  the greenhouse was built in the early 1960s and now needs a new roof and cooling system.  the student-led committee has raised over $35,000 through grants and plant sales and is now working on raising additional funding to complete the project.  

Other Grow Club projects include starting seeds and propagating plant tissue in the GW greenhouse in addition to planting seeds and seedlings in the outdoor gardens. We host a veggie plant sale in the spring and harvest produce from school plots in the fall. The harvested produce is sold to the school cafeteria through the DPS Garden-to-Cafeteria program, and excess is donated to local food banks. Proceeds raised from plant and produce sales go towards club events, supplies and refurbishing the greenhouse. The club also hosts cooking demonstrations, garden clean-up events and harvest parties.

Donated funds support our club programs including refurbishment of the GW greenhouse.
