I am Beth and, as crazy as it might sound, I might save the world one day, and you could help me do it! I am an adult trauma therapist and licensed clinical social worker at Ember Center. I have the privilege of working with those who have been directly impacted by the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault. Growing up, I knew I always wanted to help people (I may have watched one too many superhero movies). I quickly found my passion for domestic violence prevention, intervention, and advocacy. This led to overnight shifts on a 24-hour hotline, observing court for bias toward victims, and even working with police departments to better their treatment of victims of crime. I found my niche in being a therapist for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. I fight to change the world around me, and help my clients change the world around them, every day. Every dollar donated goes directly to serving the children and adults of our community, most of which have been living under constant fear, been isolated from their support system, and are left to struggle in silence. If you think “this isn’t happening around me”, think again. Last year, Ember Center provided direct service to 308 adults and children. 22% of these folks used more than one Ember Center service.

At Ember Center, we are committed to changing the world of our clients. Every day, we offer a lifeline, providing free, confidential services to those who have nowhere else to go. This includes a 24-hour hotline, community and legal advocacy, emergency shelter, and therapy. Without these free services, so many survivors would be left isolated and vulnerable.
