Help empower survivors of domestic violence get back on their feet.

$17,260

raised by 492 people

A Woman's Place is the only domestic violence shelter located in Weld County.   Our eight bedroom facility provides shelter and crisis support while empowering survivors of domestic violence to rebuild their lives.  Our free and confidential services provide support for survivors from all walks of life regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, ability, religion, sexual orientation, and social status.

When a survivor arrives at AWP, staff assess for the immediate needs of medical attention, clothing, food and hygiene items.  Once we’ve made sure a client has a safe place to stay, we work with our clients to set goals for stability. We help survivors build long-term stability through housing, legal services, and employment.  When a survivor leaves our shelter and moves into permanent housing, we use donations from the community provide to provide essential household items for the survivors (such as pots/pans, bedding, furniture, cribs, toys). The donations we receive from the community allow us to continue to provide support and services for survivors.

Here are some ways your donations help:

  • $5 can provide a meal for a survivor
  • $10 provides copay for medical appointments or medication
  • $15 can provide minutes for a pre-paid phone
  • $25 provides gas gift cards or groceries.
  • $50 can provide replacement identification cards, paperwork or filing fees for court documents.
  • $100 provides transportation for survivors and children to school, legal appointments, and medical appointments.
