Every day, The Crowley Foundation stands beside our Young Kings—guiding them as they discover their purpose, voice, and power. We are more than a mentorship program; we are an ecosystem that builds structure, belonging, and opportunity for boys who have too often been left to navigate systems not designed for them to thrive. Across the nation, the numbers tell a story that can no longer be ignored. Studies show that only one in three young people grow up with a mentor, and those without one are more than twice as likely to skip school, fall behind academically, or disengage from their communities. For boys of color, and particularly for Black boys, those numbers carry heavier weight—rooted in historical inequities and systemic barriers that persist generation after generation.
According to MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, young men of color who have access to mentorship are 55% more likely to enroll in college, 78% more likely to volunteer in their community, and 130% more likely to hold leadership positions later in life. Those aren’t just statistics—they are proof of what happens when investment meets intention.
At The Crowley Foundation, this truth lives in every moment. Our Young Kings are stepping into spaces of leadership and self-awareness that shift the narrative from survival to success, from potential to power. Each mentorship session, leadership circle, and classroom discussion gives our Kings the tools to define themselves on their own terms—to lead with clarity, to build confidence, and to see that their futures are not determined by circumstance, but by opportunity.
Colorado Gives Day allows that opportunity to continue. It powers the mentorships that happen year-round, the workshops that build emotional intelligence, and the programs that prepare our Kings to graduate, lead, and give back. The donations made on this day sustain the work that cannot stop—the work that ensures a consistent, safe, and liberating space for boys to grow into men grounded in integrity and purpose.
Your gift on Colorado Gives Day provides more than funding—it provides freedom. It allows us to remain responsive to the needs of our Young Kings, to evolve our programming, and to create pathways that extend far beyond the classroom. It fuels the structure that keeps them connected, supported, and seen. Every dollar given today carries forward as a promise that we will not let inequity define their story.
And as we move beyond this day, we invite you to make that promise permanent. Our 100 for 100 Campaign: An Investment in Equity calls for 100 donors to commit $100 per month for 12 months. This ongoing commitment creates the financial backbone that allows us to expand mentorship, strengthen curriculum, and increase access for the hundreds of Young Kings who are ready for what comes next. This work is liberation in motion. It is what happens when community refuses to wait for systems to change and instead becomes the change. It is what happens when we see our Young Kings not as statistics, but as scholars, creators, and leaders of the future.
When you give today, you sustain the movement. When you commit tomorrow, you ensure its legacy.
Your contribution powers possibility. It builds equity, expands access, and creates the conditions for our Young Kings to rise—not someday, but now.
Give today. Invest tomorrow. The legacy begins with you.
