$5,000 goal

Crestone Community Garden is a 'grassroots' organization of volunteers working under the a director to produce food for local food bank, Seniors program and themselves. Getting started with grant money from Saguache County, the garden and greenhouse have blossomed year after year. However, the population growth continues to outpace their efforts to provide. The garden needs constant inputs and labor to be successful.

The volunteers gain knowledge of growing your own food and planning for food security. In partnership with Crestone Charter School, the children have received hand-on experience planting seeds, tending them and watching them grow into real food.
