AOPYO was founded in 2013 with a mission to develop students through a whole-person approach by integrating mentoring, enrichments, and career pathway programs. AOPYO’s vision is to create a world where students are resilient, self-sufficient, and socially responsible while leading their community. AOPYO constituents include community members from youth participants, parents, school districts, city agencies, local and national partners with a focus on both positive youth development and mental/behavioral health. In 2022 we served 1730 youth and young adults through programming. We conducted consecutive enrichment, mentoring and career pathway programs in 17 sites across the Denver Metro area including K-12 schools, juvenile detention centers, city parks and rec centers, and community venues.
