Help Me Welcome Others With Joy

I’m part of Courageous Welcome, a fundraiser supporting Arboretum Coffee’s apprenticeship program for immigrant and refugee neighbors. Our goal is to raise $19,200 by World Refugee Day (June 20) to fund 8–10 apprentices with:

  • Paid apprenticeship and coffee training

  • Life skills, English, and financial education

  • Legal and mental health support

  • A community where healing, confidence, and leadership can grow

This program helps people step into new lives with dignity and support, not just with a job, but with a future.

Why am I a part of this?

I'm joining this fundraising effort because I believe every person deserves dignity, safety, and a place to belong. Scripture reminds us, “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers . . .” (Hebrews 13:2). Welcoming refugees isn't just about obedience —it’s part of the American story. Throughout history, immigrants and refugees have built and revitalized communities, launched businesses, fueled innovation, and enriched our culture. Today, more than 40% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children. As we support those seeking refuge, we also invest in the strength and future of our country.  This is a very tangible way to make a difference!

Every $640 raised fuels a full week of support for an apprentice. Every gift helps someone say, “I belong here.”  Even just a $5-$10 can add up!

Thank you for helping me build a more joyful and courageous welcome.  And if you want to learn more about Arboretum, please reach out!
