Advocates of Routt County

Advocates of Routt County has been providing domestic violence programming in Routt County for almost 40 years and sexual violence programming for nearly 30. We are the
only agency in our county that provides survivors with a 24/7 crisis line, emergency shelter, and confidential advocacy and support.

Because of Steamboat’s reputation as an idyllic mountain town, people at times question the need for a domestic violence (DV) agency in our region of the state. However, our organization knows that DV happens disproportionately in rural communities such as ours.

Advocates measures impact through client contacts (826 in first half of 2023), total clients served (91 thus far in 2023), demographic information, and nights of shelter provided (362 in first half of 2023).
