Freedom Acres was inspired by our First Rescues of 2 Baby Drafts that were abused and neglected that my daughter discovered. They are now 8 years old and have come a Long way. We Named them Auta and Hotu which means " Strong Bow and "Blazing Arrow their nicknames are Bow & Arrow That represents our Native culture. In 2019 we decided to Save 16 Wild Mustangs after hearing of their horrible Fate. Three mares were pregnant so we required if they were born Before the Delivery Date in the Holding Pens that they Come with their Mamas. These Majestic Wild Mustangs were so Lost and confused when we visited the Holding Pens. A Heartbreaking site nobody Wants to See.
In 2021 We Became a Registered Non Profit and Have Come a Long Way. The Mustangs especially our beautiful Blue Eyed Cremellos have Become Very Friendly and Loving to Everyone who visits.
We Plan To Continue our work to Educate on Horse Human Communication and Continue Building a Coping Program For kids with unwell Siblings This Summer.
Rescuing Is a Expensive Venture with Hay Being the Number 1 Expense as well as medical treatments, Ferrier and Sanctuary Upkeep. We are Working Towards Getting A Barn to Store more Hay and Have a Warm Place for the Kids during the Winter!
