MHYT Summer Camp Scholarship Fund

MHYT’s goal is simple: say “yes” to every scholarship request.

Summer camp is no different. Summer is a real need for families seeking safe, reliable care for their children. It’s often when we connect with families we may not usually serve. For many, this is their first introduction to MHYT and theatre, and we want it to be a welcoming, meaningful, and accessible experience.

We recognize the real costs of running a full week of camp—paying educators and staff fairly, securing licensing for production camps, supplies, insurance, and all the behind-the-scenes work it takes to keep things safe, organized, and high quality—but we stay committed to saying “yes” so no child is turned away.

A full week of MHYT summer camp is $500 and runs 5 days, 9am–4pm. That’s 35 hours of care, learning, and support per child. That breaks down to about $14 per hour for a fully staffed, safe, and supportive environment. That cost also includes supplies, materials, and everything needed to make camp run well and a great experience for every kid. 

If 100 people give $50, we can raise $5,000—fully sponsoring 10 children for a week of MHYT summer camp.

All money raised through this campaign will support 2026 summer camp scholarships. Once all summer scholarship needs are met, any additional funds will go toward our year-round scholarship fund.
